Eastern Townships Roadtrip

Happy Easter long weekend everyone! To celebrate the long weekend, I took a day trip to the Eastern Townships with my friend J. We visited Bromont, Lac Brome and Lac Magog. Here are some of my favourite shots from the day!

De Farine Et D'eau Fraîche

My friend C and I found a new place to study today. We discovered a beautiful coffee shop / tea house / restaurant by the Berri UQAM metro called De Farine et E'eau Fraîche. This gorgeous location is mainly a tea house but also a restaurant that serves brunch, afternoon tea with delicious baked goods, and lunch items such as soups, sandwiches and salads.

We both ordered a regular drip coffee which was delicious, and pulled out of laptops to work away for a few hours. There is a designated section near the back of the restaurant where people can work on their laptops at the table top bar, but since it wasn't busy we were lucky enough to stay at our table in the main dining hall. After a while I ordered the soup of the day and my friend got a sandwich.

This would be the perfect place to bring your mom or grandma for Mother's Day brunch of tea. It would also be great to bring a friend who is celebrating their birthday since there are plenty of cakes to chose from here! Overall, a gorgeous location, but not my top choice for a casual coffee and study session. This is more of a sit down restaurant in my opinion. 

La cabane à sucre / The Sugar Shack

I had an awesome traditional Quebecois weekend this past weekend and went to my first Sugar Shack called À la feuille d'Érable in Mount Saint Grégroire with some new friends!! The food was amazing and I am definitely on a sugar high as I write this! Here are some of my favourite photos from the evening.

Is it spring yet?

I was hoping that the weather would be warm when we got back from our trip to Miami but no such luck. I'm patiently waiting for the days where I can wear a skirt or dress without tights. Maybe if I wear bright colours spring will come faster!!

September Café

September is a brand new café in Little Burgundy, location on the same block as the famous Joe Beef. This café is beautiful inside with large windows and lots of natural light. There is a large table in the middle and lots of comfortable seating. The coffee shop is surf themed, and even has a DIY surfboard workshop in the back!!

This café has a lot of different food options including sandwiches, salads, toast, energy balls, tea cakes, yogurt and granola bowls. They serve anchored coffee, which is one of my favourites, so it was no surprise that I loved my flat white. I also had a chance to chat with the owners who told me a bit about their new spot which stemmed from their love of surfing and coffee, and was built around their love for hurricane season.

September channels the surfer culture from Costa Rica to Indonesia and is open every day from 7 am to 8 pm. I’d highly recommend this spot for your next caffeine fix. There is something for everyone!

Pourquois Pas Espresso Bar

Today was a grey and rainy day and I absolutely love spending rainy days reading a good book and drinking great coffee! Pourquois Pas is located right between the Berri and Beaudry metro stations. After a quick stop at the library, I decided to use adbeus (an amazing coffee locator app) to show me where the closest cafe was. Sure enough, Pourquois Pas popped up and I went straight since I had heard a lot about it already.

I ordered a latté and got settled on the bar looking out of the main window. My latté was delicious and not too milky. I felt really cozy and at home immediately. The cafe was industrial chic and the vibe was really chill and comfortable. I must have stayed for a few hours, just caught up in my book before I realized it was time to go. It's nice to just take a break sometimes and get lost in another world. Espresso lovers, make sure you try out this place next time you're in the area!

Weekend in Miami
