Café Belle

Café Belle is an amazing coffee shop located in Little Italy! I stumbled upon it while exploring the Feast of San Gennaro! I loved this family owned, authentic Italian café that was originally opened by the grandfather of Belle over 70 years ago in Naples and then to Brookyln! Three decades later, it made its way to NYC through Café Belle where everything is made in house using Grandpa's recipes. You can read more about the Scala family's store here.

I enjoyed people watching while sipping their delicious coffee and then grabbed some cannoli's to go! This is a spot you definitely need to visit next time you're exploring New York's little Italy!

The Feast of San Gennaro

The Feast of San Gennaro is an eleven day event in New York's Little Italy, celebrating the life of the San Gennaro of Naples (the Bishop of Benevento).

The Neapolitan immigrants landed on Mulberry street when moving to the Lower East Side back at the turn of the 20th century. In keeping with their traditions, they decided to have a block party for their patron saint and the protector of Naples back in 1926. Since then, this tradition has continued year after year and has become a New York icon and a world known event which stretches throughout 11 blocks of Little Italy.

I loved exploring all the stands, eating so much good food including famous sausages, cannoli's and gelato! There was live music, arcade games, activities for goods and even a zeppole eating completion!

I ended my afternoon at some boutique vendors and added a few new pieces of jewelry to my collection before stopping at Café Belle to sip some coffee and relax before heading home! (Check out my post on Café Belle here!) What a perfect way to spend an afternoon!

Wildwood & Cape May, NJ

We had a great time visiting our friends at the beach recently, who have a family home in Wildwood, NJ! They took us by the seawall, to great bars and restaurants and the best hole in the wall bookstore called Hooked on Books! I especially loved the Victorian style homes in Cape May! Hope we can make this an annual trip with them!
