Vineapple Cafe

Vineapple Cafe is the cutest neighbourhood restaurant and cafe nestled in Brooklyn Heights. They offer three different menus for the daytime, evening and brunch. They also have a nice selection of cocktails and serve coffee from Devocion! 

I stopped in for a drip coffee and immediately fell in love with the pineapple theme; very fitting since they are located on Pineapple Street! The coffee was delicious and the vibes were even better! The restaurant was popping but I loved the quiet nook by the entrance where I could people watch and enjoy a reprieve from the hustle and bustle.  I would love to come back for their Sunday Supper, live music on Fridays or trivia night and enjoy some food! 

Backatown Coffee Parlour

We ended our perfect girls weekend in New Orleans at Backatown Coffee Parlour. This is a locally-owned coffee boutique designed to reflect the personality and charm of old Storyville - the birthplace of Jazz! We walked by the St. Louis Cemetery, which was just one block away, and I felt like I was transported back in time.

The interior was charming and cozy with plenty of seating and snack options. We grabbed some pastries and chia seed pudding to have with our coffee and to fuel us for a day of travel back home. What a great little spot!

Doktor Luke's

Doktor Luke's is the cutest independent coffee shop in Sydney, Nova Scotia! I had a chance to explore the Prince Street Market shops and the downtown area a bit and then stop in and enjoy a drip coffee here before my cousin's wedding! 

The ambiance is very cozy and welcoming! I loved the relaxing atmosphere, observing students study (I don't miss those stressful days!) and seeing friends catch up over a cup of joe! I'm so glad I had a chance to relax here and definitely recommend this if you ever find yourself in Cape Breton and are looking for a cup of coffee or a good pastry! 

Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

I had the chance to spend a beautiful fall weekend in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia for my cousin's wedding! Some of my favourite memories included driving along the Cabot Trail with my parents, visiting the Alexander Graham Bell museum, exploring the downtown area, seeing the Big Fiddle, learning more about the Aboriginal's culture and history, of course spending time with my family at my the wedding! 

The food was delicious, the people were so friendly and the lifestyle felt very slow and relaxed! I hope I have a chance to visit eastern Canada again in the future!
