Pour 3 Points: Baskeball for Kids

This past weekend I had the chance to watch a Basketball tournament organized by the Montreal Junior Board of Trade (JCCM) for the non-profit organization Pour 3 Points. My company's team was 1 of 16 corporate teams who came together to play for change and to support local students.

The organization "Pour 3 Points" transforms coaches into life coaches for young athletes, giving them the skills needed to succeed in school and in life. This local organization works with multiple schools in disadvantaged neighbourhoods of Montreal and offers mentoring, dropout prevention and tutoring programs through sports teams.

Even though I'm not a huge sports nut, I enjoyed watching the games and it made me happy to see all the people who took time out of their weekend to come play and support their teams. Our team's fundraising goal was $2,000, and we managed to raise a little over $1,600 by game day. If you would like to donate to this cause to help us reach our goal, please visit our team's page here.

Tunnel Espresso Bar

Hi Everyone! I mentioned a while ago that I started my first real job out of university this past Fall at a great firm in downtown Montreal. Since then, I feel like I live a completely different life - one where I'm constantly on the go! If I'm not at the gym at lunch, you can find me at one of the many connecting malls without a doubt.

During one of our many window-shopping lunch breaks, my colleague, Charlotte, and I discovered a semi-hidden cafe called the Tunnel Espresso Bar. After passing by it a few times and seeing what looked like a never ending lineup, we decided we absolutely had to try the coffee there. We discovered that this little coffee counter is the perfect spot for busy working professionals! It is located in the underground tunnel which connects two of my absolute favourite malls - the Eaton Centre and Place Ville Marie.

This little spot is only open during regular business hours - Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm - and caters to working people. What I love about Tunnel is their quick service and convenient location. I find it really easy to pick up a latte while running errands at the mall.

I've been a few times now but have only ever had their lattes, which are great! The espresso is unique and has an almost nutty finish. This spot specializes in organic fair trade, direct trade and micro roasted coffees. In other words, amazing coffee. Their pastries always look so fresh but I have yet to try one!

So whether you're a busy professional or not, try to locate this gem and grab a coffee to sip on while browsing through the malls.
