Nook Bakery & Coffee Bar

Nook Bakery has been on our Philly Café list for a while! It's a tough one to get to since it's closed on weekends. I was lucky to stop by on Friday for a quick coffee with Alan before running some errands and going shopping.

Nook is a cute, vintage-style café with lots of baked goods and coffee. All of the baked goods are made right on-site from scratch, in small batches. Nook uses only fresh and seasonal ingredients. Even though small-batch baking is a lot of work, I'm sure anyone who orders food can really taste the freshness. They also make custom cakes! Learn more about their story here.

I ordered a house blend coffee which was delicious and Alan got a cappuccino. Lately I've been adding cinnamon to my coffee and I absolutely love it! It adds a little extra to an otherwise simple cup of joe. If you're in Philly, try to stop in for some freshly baked goodies and coffee!

Belmont Stakes

I spent an awesome few days with friends in New York this past weekend. We went to the Belmont Stakes, and this was the first horse race I've ever been to! It was such a cool experience. I'll let these photos do all the talking. Cheers!

Brunch at Buck 15

Buck 15 Espresso Bar is such a trendy little café on Notre Dame! I had a great morning here brunching with my friend J. We absolutely loved the modern and cozy decor inside! There was a giant mural accent wall that caught my eye right away, and lots of beautiful wooden accents and plants everywhere. There was also so much great natural lighting as well which made it fun to take photos of everything!

My cappuccino was delicious, but what really got me was the food! I had the avo-yo toast which was basically a piece of rye bread with avocado, a friend egg, and a mixture of nuts and seeds topped with dill and drizzled with olive oil. J had the ricotta toast topped with fruit! We were just loving our food so much! I'd highly recommend this spot for brunch, but it fills up fast and is not very big!
