The Salvation Army: Santa Shuffle

What an amazing day! This morning I climbed up a very snowy and icy Mount Royal to volunteer with the Salvation Army for their annual Santa Shuffle with a few colleagues. This event takes place all across North America in collaboration with the Running Room. All runners pledge to raise a certain amount of money, which is then donated to one of the Salvation Army's many programs. In Montreal, the race is either a 5 km Run (for adults) or a 1 km Elf Walk (for kids) on top of the Mount Royal.

Although I was only a volunteer who helped serve the amazing runners water, hot chocolate and snacks, I was still lucky enough to receive a participation medal and a shirt! What a warm feeling to know that there are so many people dedicated to helping our local communities. Thank you Salvation Army!
